Bantam BB take Silver @ Aurora Silver Stick - Feb 2019
Congratulations to our Bantam BB Ice Cats!
After finishing 8th in the round robin, the Ice Cats had to face the 1st place team Huron Heat in the Quarter finals. The girls played a great game and won 2-1 to put them in the semi-finals against Barrie Sharks on Sunday morning. They wanted badly to play in the finals and won 1-0 against Barrie.
The Gold medal game was held Sunday at 3:15. These girls came out on fire and scored the first goal. St. Clair Shores scored within seconds to tie it at 1-1. They ended the game at 3-3 (Shay Martin Hat trick) and went into OT, 3 on 3 for 5 minutes. The game was still tied at the end of OT and had to go to a shootout. They came up short in the shootout and became Silver medalists!!
All of the Coaches, trainers, parents & siblings that tagged along for the weekend, couldn’t be more proud of how these girls battled hard in this tournament.
Can’t wait to see how playoffs, playdowns and the Walter Gretzky tournament goes in the next few weeks. Congrats Bantam BB Girls!!
