Ice Cats Donate (Brantford Girls Hockey Association)

PrintIce Cats Donate

Hockey unites us like no other sport, but there are many of our youth living in remote northern communities that are unable to play due to access and affordability of hockey equipment.

This season the BGHA hosted a donation drive to collect hockey equipment to help northern Indigenous communities in Canada for True North Aid.

This was held at the Wayne Gretzky Centre on September 7th.

This project began with putting out a request for the donations of extra or outgrown hockey equipment in good condition from our members.

As always, the Ice Cat family hits the ice with a roar!

The donations began pouring in!  Volunteers worked at sorting equipment for packing and delivery.

Two Men and a Truck’ moving company from Niagara made the packing task a breeze with the donation of moving boxes for the huge generosity of the community.

This event was a huge success!

Boxes and boxes of equipment have been sent North.

Our donation has been acknowledged in the True North Aid website.

A big thank you to Lacey, Cathy, Kyle and Lisa for volunteering their time organizing this event; and a big, big thank you to everyone who donated equipment.
