BGHA Ice Cat
Awarded annually at the Association Banquet, the goal of the program is to reward and recognize outstanding individuals who excel in the classroom, on the ice, in the community and exhibit qualities of leadership and commitment within the BGHA organization.

    Caitlin Osborn
    U22 HL - Head Coach Jamie MacNaught
    Caitlin will be attending the University of Guelph in 2024/25 working on her Bachelor of Arts - English. She has been an Ice Cat for many years and racked up GOLD and SILVER medals with Most Outstanding and Heart and Hustle Awards. When she wasn't playing or volunteering with hockey she also played competitive soccer while maintaining her grades. Congratulations Caitlin!

    Grace Martin
    U18BB - Head Coach Brad Dunlop
    Grace will be attending Brock University in 2024/25 working on her BA of Psychology. Grace has been an Ice Cat for many years winning MVP multiple times and most sportsmanship award. She volunteered at Ice Cat events along with helping coach a younger Ice Cat team. Along with playing hockey, Grace played softball and girls lacrosse while maintaining her academics. Congratulations Grace!

    Kanerataien Doxtador-Swamp
    U18 HL - Head Coach Rob Symons
    Kanerataien will be attending Sheridan College in 2024/25 working on Art Fundamentals. She has played with the Ice Cats for the past 4 years and won Heart and Hustle awards while growing as a player and honing her skills. While excelling in school, she has also been busy developing her skills in drama, filming (Rogers TV), writing for the newspaper club fashion and school hockey. Congratulations Kanerataien!
2022
  • Josie MacLean
    U22 HL - Head Coach Ken Osborn
    Josie is attending Queens University to attain a Bachelor of Science - Biological Health Science, Human Kinetics as a stepping stone to be an optometrist. In the many years that Josie played with the Ice Cats it was in both Rep and HL. When not with the Ice Cats, Josie is playing soccer, hockey, volleyball, basketball, and 7 years of figure skating. Josie also volunteered at the Gretzky Tournaments, with the Ice Kittens and the U9 team. Josie has achieved numerous awards. Congratulations!
2021
  • Chloe Herron
    Brian Cross Award - U18 Ernst/Sinnesael
    Chloe is attending Wilfred Laurier University to attain a degree in Policing with a BA in Psychology. Chloe has played with the Ice Cats for many years. Chloe was awarded MVP. She was active in volunteering with the Ice Cats while being very active in rugby at school and the Harlequins and basketball. An active athlete who maintained great grades. Congratulations Chloe!
  • Stephanie Buckley
    U18 - Ernst/Sinnesael
    Stephanie is attending Queens University to attain a degree in Commerce in 2021/22. Stephanie has also played with the Ice Cats for many years where she was awarded Heart & Hustle award and has been Assistant Captain. She actively volunteered with Christmas good will activities, mentoring Ice Kittens, and aspects of the Gretzky Tournament. She also plays ruby and tennis. Academics are outstanding. Congratulations Stephanie!
  • Sarah Wilson
    U18 - Ernst/Sinnesael
    Sarah is attending University to attain a degree in Kinesiology in 2021/22. Sarah has played with the Ice Cats for many years and although this was a challenging year with COVID, she was able to make the most of the season. She was active in volunteering at Ice Cat events while still playing school hockey and soccer. Congratulations Sarah!
2020
  • Emily Cox
    Midget BB/B
    Emily played with the BGHA for 7 seasons. She was Assistant Captain in her final year. Emily received the Most Sportsmanlike Award in the 2017, 2018 & 2019 seasons and MVP in hockey & baseball. She was involved in volunteerism within the BGHA as well as summer and training camps for kids 6 – 13 years of age. While being active in school sports and committees, she maintained grades in the 90%. Emily is attending Northwood University-Business Administration.
  • Madelyn Avey
    Midget/Intermediate House League
    Madelyn has played with the BGHA for 4 seasons. She was Captain last season. Madelyn has also helped with Ice Kittens, coached Tykes, active in varsity sports while maintaining grades in the high 80’s and 90’s. She’s received Most Sportsmanship and Volunteer awards. Madelyn also played lacrosse, volleyball, rugby and played musical instruments. Madelyn will be attending Brock University in Child & Youth studies but hopes to be able to continue to play and volunteer with the BGHA.
  • Brooklyn Morris
    Midget/Intermediate House League
    Brooklyn has played with the BGHA for 5 seasons. She has been a very busy person during high school. Besides playing hockey & volunteering with the BGHA, she volunteered with the Brantford Youth Council, with an Earth Day event and school events which she has received awards for. Brooklyn has kept a low 90’s/high 80’s average. She will be attending McMaster University taking Cognitive Science of Language.
