Tryout Dates and Format
April 23rd 9pm Gretzky - Skills Session
April 25th 830pm Gretzky - Intrasquad Game
April 27th 11am Gretzky - Intrasquad Game
April 29th 830pm Gretzky - Exhibition Game vs Flamborough
Coaches/Evaluators will be looking for the following:
1. Hard Work - playing hard in all 3 zones on the ice and not giving up on pucks.
2. Ability to be a good teammate - communication, puck movement, strong positional play, and positivity.
Projected Season Outlook
The goal is to build a very competitive program with some flexibility as we know at this age group that players have school and work commitments. Players selected for this team will have direct input into helping build our season plan. The following will be options that will be considered:
- Summer Skill Sessions
- Summer strength/conditioning program
- monthly team events
- game video review sessions
- 2-3 season tournaments
- skill development sessions
- goalie development sessions
A little bit about me, this will be my third season coaching with BGHA. The past two seasons I have been the head coach for our U18BB program. I have been coaching girls and boys hockey at the rep level for more than 12 years at various levels. I have a passion for hockey, player development, team building, and try my best to instill this passion in the players that I coach.
