U13 Tier 1 Announcement
Submitted By Lisa Wallis on Wed 04 05, 23
The BGHA has been notified that Brad Saint is no longer able to coach our U13 Tier 1 team for the 2023/24 season due to work commitments that he has been presented with. Brad is a valued member of the Ice Cat family and he will be sorely missed behind the bench next year. We wish Brad all the best with his new position and thank him for all his years of coaching with BGHA.

The BGHA is proud to announce that Ben Gagnon has been selected to replace Brad and coach our U13 Tier 1 team for the 2023/24 season. Ben has extensive experience as both a coach and a player, he is a great asset to this team! Ben is excited for this opportunity and looks forward to a highly successful season coaching the Tier 1 team.

Please see Ben’s bio below, feel free to reach out to him regarding tryouts and any questions regarding the U13 Tier 1 team for the 2023/24 season [email protected]

We anticipate announcing the U13 Tier 2 coach in the next few days, please stay tuned for updates on this selection.

Meet Ben:
Ben has been playing hockey since a young age. He played minor hockey in his hometown of Hawkesbury, ON and played summer AAA hockey in the Ottawa region. After finishing minor hockey, he played for the Hawkesbury Hawks Junior A program before earning a full scholarship in the NCAA Division I where he played for Western Michigan University. After graduating University, he finished his hockey career playing Senior AAA. Throughout his years as a player, he also worked at various hockey schools. Ben joined the Ice Cats program 6 years ago by helping with the Ice Kittens program and has been coaching Rep A hockey ever since. For Ben, development is key for the players.  His coaching philosophy is to create a positive team environment (with players and families), promote fun on and off the ice, focus on development, knowledge of the game, and improve skating skills while being competitive. He hopes for all his players to love the game as much as he does.
