Four PWHL teams are set
to open the inaugural PWHL Playoffs on May 8. The two best-of-five semifinal
series will feature PWHL Toronto against PWHL Minnesota, and PWHL Montréal
against PWHL Boston.
By finishing as the
league’s first place team in the regular-season standings, Toronto earned the
opportunity to select its opponent between third place Boston and fourth place
Minnesota. The team announced its decision Monday evening on social media which
made both semifinal matchups official. Montréal earned home ice advantage by
finishing second in the standings. The winners of each series will advance to
the PWHL Finals where they will compete for the Walter Cup.
