Hockey University - Online Coach 1/2

Hockey Canada provides online learning opportunities through their Hockey University program. The 4 hour Coach Level 1/2 course provides in-depth information and instruction on leadership, communication, safety, teaching skills, and progressions. All the Hockey U modules lead into the in-class coach level program.

The HU Online-Coach Level 1/2 course is the prerequisite to the 4 hour in-class coach level courses.  The online course will continue to be available on your Hockey Canada profile until it is completed.  The online portion must be completed before you are able to register for the coach level in-class courses.

Please note: If you do not have a profile created, the registration process is a 3 step one.... type your email and password.... add a member by searching for YOURSELF, if the system does not find YOU please create a new member profile. Once you have created a profile and added yourself to the account you will be able to register.

Coach Initiation in Sport

Coach Initiation in Sport is an online NCCP module developed to introduce new or experienced coaches to the foundational skills in coaching, such as: long-term athlete development, ethics, coaching motivation, and athlete safety and wellness. The Coach Initiation in Sport module will also introduce coaches to the NCCP, a valuable tool for preparing for a coach’s first in-person NCCP workshop.


Access Coach Initiation in Sport online module in the  Locker, for $15. This e-module will take approximately 1 hour to complete.

On-line:  HTCP Level 1 and Level 1 Refresher

The new HTCP Level 1 and Level 1 Refresher e-learning courses provide a simple and convenient method of certification and are designed to be accessible from any personal computer.   It is presented as an online curriculum and includes interactive multi-media tutorials, quizzes and printable downloads.  It also enables students to access online resources and complete the learning modules at their own pace.  The online version incorporates the content of the current HTCP Level 1 curriculum and requires the participant to complete each module and successfully pass an examination at the conclusion of the course.

The HTCP is designed to educate people in the prevention, recognition and management of hockey-related injuries and is the only sport-specific risk management, injury management and safety education program in Ontario.

The Hockey Development Centre for Ontario (HDCO) is the administrative body responsible for overseeing the delivery of the HTCP in Ontario and works closely with its Member Associations to provide education for trainers across the province. 

The development of the HTCP Online Initiative was made possible through a grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation.

The Ontario Hockey Federation (OHF) is pleased to announce the launch of a new online training module for team officials, to support trans-inclusive hockey in Ontario, Understanding Discrimination based on Gender Identity and Gender Expression Training. After registering for the clinic, you will receive two e-mails. The Receipt For Clinic Registration e-mail will include the link to start the modules. Please make note: To access the modules, please use the same username and password you have set-up with your e-hockey account.

Post Task/Field Evaluation:

Once completed, your status will show attended and passed. There is NO certificate that is sent out.

Course Description:

This is a live, Facilitator led, interactive group based course offered ONLINE. THIS IS NOT A WEBINAR YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO COMMUNICATE WITH OTHER PARTICIPANTS

By successfully completing the Make Ethical Decisions workshop you will be fully equipped to handle virtually any ethical situation with confidence and surety. MED is one of the NCCP’s cornerstone workshops, and leaves coaches with no doubt as to what to do when the going gets tough.


You must have your own computer with a headset containing a built-in microphone.

Tablets and cellphones will NOT work.
