The Brantford Girls Hockey Association provides the application portal to members of the Ice Cats family for their post-secondary education. Kevin Finney was an avid BGHA Hockey Dad of two active Ice Cats. He passed away suddenly in 2022. In honor of his memory, his family has created a Post-secondary School Bursary in his honor.
Awarded annually at the Brantford Sports Council Banquet, the goal of the program is to reward and recognize outstanding individuals who excel in the classroom, on the ice, in the community and exhibit qualities of leadership and commitment within the BGHA organization.
Applications:
- Applications are open to all U18+ (Rep & HL)
- Applications close the same timeline as all other Brantford Sports Council award nominations each year
Review & Scoring:
- The Review team is made up of the Finney family
- All applications are sent to the review team members
- The review team make the decision
Award:
- The award is $1000.00 for post-secondary education
- There is only one successful candidate chosen by the Finney family

Announcement:
- Once the applicant is selected and individually notified by the Finney family, their names will be posted in the Awards section of the website
- The successful applicant will also be announced at the Brantford Sports Council Annual Banquet.
