Walter Gretzky Tournament Silent Auction, Calendar (Brantford Girls Hockey Association)

Hello, I am writing to you on behalf of the Brantford Girls Hockey Association. We are hosting our 43rd Annual Walter Gretzky Tournament February 20-23 2025. Our tournament is one of the biggest tournaments held in Brantford each year, with over 100 teams from all over Ontario, and sometimes further. We host close to 2000 players and their families each year and draw lots of traffic to our local businesses.

As our tournament continues to grow, we are always looking for ways to help local businesses benefit from our tournament. This year we are having a silent auction table and we are looking for donations towards this. Sponsors would create a basket with a value of approximately $150 and we will add your basket to our silent auction table. You can add a business card to your basket as a form of advertising for your business.

If you would like to donate towards our tournament but cannot commit to $150, that’s OK! We will accept any amount of sponsorship that your company decides on, we can use it with other sponsors to create a basket or use in another way during our tournament.

We are also looking for local restaurants that would be willing to give the teams coupons or offer team discounts towards their meals. Please keep in mind that if you are able to give coupons most will be coming with a big group to your restaurant. The coupons would only need to be valid for the weekend of our tournament, as most teams will be travelling in for our tournament. Ideas could be % off, one free meal per a certain number of people, free kids’ meal etc. We are willing to make use of any coupons we get as we can hand them out in different ways. However, if you would like all players to receive a coupon, we would need approximately 2000 coupons.

We also have other sponsorship opportunities for local businesses. We will be having a photobooth for a few hours on Friday and Saturday and would love to have a business sponsor this event for us. The sponsorship for the photobooth would be between $1500-$2000.  

We also have MVP pucks that we give out to one player from each team for every game in the tournament and there is an opportunity for a sponsor to put their logo on one side of the puck. The sponsorship for this would be approximately $1500-$2000 (depending on how many pucks we need to order). We also love to do coach draws throughout the weekend as a thank you to coaches for volunteering so we are always accepting gift donations to put towards this as well.
