BGHA Return to Hockey Update
Submitted By Lisa Wallis on Thursday, August 27, 2020
Hello BGHA families;
The board has been busy putting together a plan for the return of hockey while following guidelines from the OWHA as well as our PHU.
Right now we are asking everyone to make sure they have completed the Intent to Register either on our website (earlier in the summer) or on Ramp currently using this link:https://www.rampregistrations.com/login?v3=1711344294

We are asking for this to be completed by Monday August 31.

After Monday we will work together with the coaches of each team to form teams/groups for the Fall season.
Unfortunately we cannot host tryouts which means teams will be formed on paper- we will use information from last year to help form teams. Teams will be chosen based on previous year as we want to keep the same caliber of players together as we believe this is best for their development.

After teams have been formed you will be contacted to let you know your team coach for the Fall season.We plan to start on ice development/practices on September 16th and continuing running regularly throughout the Fall.
At this point we are unsure how much ice each team will be getting as we do not have our ice contract completed yet and we are unsure of how many teams we will have at this point.

We can also form extended groups with close by associations- with a maximum of 50 people in the extended groups. We are currently talking to other associations to try and set this up starting mid October.

We have no idea when any on ice tryouts will be allowed but if and when we will definitely get that posted.

We hope this helps bring some clarity to the 2020/21 season- this is a learning curve for all of us but we are so excited to get back on the ice.

Please note: Updates for Tyke and Ice Kittens to come in September.
