changes focus on the development of the player by laying out how the phases of
the season will be delivered.
1.
Preparation Phase/Evaluation Phase: typically 4 weeks
2.
Development Phase: time period after try-outs and before regular
season
3.
Regular Season:
from 1st regular season game to start of play-offs
4.
Play-offs
5.
Off-season Phase: time from end of play-offs to start of
Preparation Phase
Charts have been created for quick reference: U9 (Novice) and U11 (Atom)
Here are some common changes for both groups:
- For players wanting to try-out for representative teams – there will be no evaluations (try-outs) from March/April to August. This also includes the first week of school.
- Prior to evaluations (try-outs) there will be 4 practices/skill sessions
- Following team selection, there will be a period of development prior to the beginning of the regular season (Rep & HL).
