Ice Cat of the Week: Peruth
Submitted By Lisa Wallis on Monday, February 17, 2020
This weeks Player of the Week Nomination is for our teams 18th Girl, Peruth. Peruth has been our official 18th Girl this hockey season and we are honoured to have helped put that big, beautiful smile on her face.

Peruth is 5 years old and she lives in Uganda. She was born with two clubbed feet and has not been able to start school yet due to the long walk to get her there and the condition of her feet, making it very difficult. In September our Bantam B players raised $1500 in only a couple weeks which paid for Peruth to have corrective surgery on both feet, which she had in November. Peruth is now cast free, doing very well sporting her leg braces and on her way to a full recovery. We were able to send Peruth a care package with some Ice Cats gear for her to wear and had an Ice Cats doll made just for her with her name sewn on the back. Our players also raised more money to help support Peruths family of 5 with a four month food supply, bedding, mosquito netting and live goats and chickens to provide an income. Our players are honoured to call Peruth or 18th Girl and help in this amazing opportunity through the organization one4another international. Peruth you will always be in our hearts and we adore you. The players and coaching staff of the Bantam B Team.
