Ice Cat of the Week: Kelsey Johnston
Submitted By Lisa Wallis on Tuesday, January 21, 2020
This weeks player of the week Bantam Rep B nomination is for Kelsey Johnston. Kelsey has been an Ice Cat for the past several seasons and we are thrilled that she’s found her hockey home with us in Brantford.

A grade 8 student this year she is a busy girl with school, lots of hockey and her friends. She always strives to be her absolute best for not only herself but for her fellow players and team as well. Kelsey is a defensive minded player and plays her position very well, always protecting her zone and goalie. She works hard each and every shift. This past weekend she helped lead her team through 4 tournament games in Belmont and earn a gold medal in the 5th game, the championship game winning 5-2. Smiling ear to ear showing off her new hardware. Kelsey always has a positive attitude and outlook and her funny personality makes it very easy to get a long with her . She is adored by her teammates. Hockey is such an amazing sport and for our young girls on our team it helps to teach them to be positive, learn structure and how to truly be a good person by being a team player. It’s not just a couple months of being together, playing , practicing and working hard ...... it’s July through April, it’s watching the process and hockey development in skill and passion for the sport grow from the start of their season to the very end. It’s an amazing avenue to promote life skills for these young ladies and keep them active and healthy. Kelsey you are awesome, keep up the amazing hard work. Your coaches and teammates.
