The BGHA is proud to announce that Krista Duchene and Brad Saint are returning as they have accepted the role of Head Coaches for our Atom (U11) Tier 1 team in the 2020/21 season!

These two coaches found that they are a dynamic team together while coaching the Novice Rep teams for the past 2 seasons.

To reach Krista please email her at [email protected]
To reach Brad please email him at [email protected]

Here are their bios:

Krista:

  • While attending the University of Guelph, Krista played four years on the Guelph Gryphons women’s hockey team (1996-97 to 1999-200).
  • In her sophomore season (1997-98) Krista helped lead the Gryphons to an OUA championship title and was selected as the OUA Tournament MVP, scoring 3 goals and adding 4 assists in two games. The team went on to place 4th at the National Championships.
  • By her senior season (1999-2000), she had been named the team’s assistant captain and earned the title of OUA All-Star.
  • After retiring from hockey, Krista pursued her other athletic passion by returning to running. Since her debut marathon in 2002, she has become the second fastest Canadian, a 2016 Olympian, and placed 3rd at the 2018 Boston Marathon.
  • Here is an article from this 2018 that joins her hockey and running careers: https://gryphons.ca/news/2018/4/18/cross-country-pair-of-former-gryphons-steal-the-spotlight-at-the-boston-marathon.aspx?mobile=skip

He brought his polished skills back to Brantford to play one season at the Senior A level for the Branford Blast.
