Ice Cat of the Week: Josie Maclean
Submitted By Lisa Wallis on Monday, November 11, 2019
This weeks player of the week for our Bantam Rep B team is Josie Maclean. Josie is a second year bantam player and her positive leadership skills earned her our teams assistant captain role.

Josie is an amazing hockey player, who first started out in figure skating and only transitioned over to girls hockey during her Atom age division .... and we are so glad that she did. She is a key player on our team and makes skating look effortless. Josie is one of the most dedicated and hard working players on our Bantam team and has also been playing up for the Midget Rep teams when needed and practicing as often as she can as well . She never has a negative word to say and always sees the good in any situation. On the ice at practice or a game she never gives up ... there is zero quit in this young lady! Josie shows all her teammates respect and treats everyone with kindness and her leader role on our team shows. As our players are in grades 8 and 9 this season we have been participating in several “give back" and “pay it forward" initiatives right after our team was formed after May tryouts. The 18th Girl Project, Food drive challenge vs the Woodstock team, our upcoming Christmas Nova Vita family donation....Through all these Josie has shown dedication to truly making a difference. She has a heart of gold and wants to help others and we thank you for that. We want our young ladies to step back and think of others and put others before themselves, to help them be the best that they can be and to teach them life lessons that may shape them into good human beings. Hockey is so much more than what happens during a game and on a scoreboard. As a coaching staff, our hope is to develop their hockey skills, help them be dedicated to something and to skate away with life skills that mould them into the amazing young adults we know that they’ll be. Josie you are a rock star ..... Your coaches and teammates.
