Another great Tyke Season 2019/20

This season we had 19 Tyke players in total.  They made up our three Tyke teams:  Toronto Tom Cats, Boston Bob Cats and the Montreal Wild Cats.

The focus of the U7 Player Pathway is “Developing Skills First” and this is exactly what our Tykes did.

85% of practice time is to be spent learning the technical skills like fundamental movement skills (striding, turning, stopping) and motor skills of agility, balance and coordination.  Tykes_Tag_Ready_2019-20.jpg

Tykes_Skating_Stick_2019-20.jpg  Manipulation skills like shooting, passing and puck control are also practiced. 
The games are cross-ice set-up.  The teams use the ice barriers as the ‘bench’. Tyke_Game_1_2019-20.jpg
