2024/25 U15HL win the GOLD at the Hamilton Hawkey Tournament
The last weekend in March 2025 was when the Hamilton Hawkey Tournament was played. Our U15 HL team was out for an end of season win!
They were in a pool of three other teams: the Barrie Sharks, the St. Thomas Panthers, and the Hamilton Hawks. |
| These Cats came in 2nd place in the Round Robin with two wins, one loss and one tied game. Their one loss was against the Barrie Sharks and their one tie was against the Barrie Sharks. |

Since the team was in 2nd place, they would play the 1st place team on Sunday - the Barrie Sharks. The Cats played this team twice, so they were ready for the Championship game.
The team was up at the end of the 2nd period with a 1-0 lead, but in the 3rd period the Sharks got a goal. The game ended with a 1-1 tie, resulting in an overtime 3 on 3. The winning goal by Mariah Koerssen - way to go Mariah!
Hearts were pounding, but the coaching team, family and fans believed in the skill and teamwork of the players.
And then it happened -- we scored!!!!
U15HL took the GOLD in overtime. Congratulations Cats! |
