2024/25 U15BB wins SILVER at the Guelph Winter Classic
Our U15BB Ice Cats travelled to the Guelph Winter Classic on the December 6th, 2024 weekend.  The were in a pool of 6 other teams:  The B.A.D. Blazers, the Oakville Hornets, the Waterloo Ravens, the Orangeville Tigers and the Mississauga Hurricanes.

The U15BB Ice Cats took the ice this weekend at the Guelph 2024 Winter Classic.

The first game of the Round Robin was against the Belmont Blazers. The girls played hard but ended up losing the first game 4 to 1.

Not deterred, the team rebounded against the Mississauga Hurricanes by winning 3 to 1.

The team knew that they would have to win both games on Saturday in order to advance to the Semi-Finals on Sunday.

The first game on Saturday against Orangeville was a hard fought game, with the Ice Cats up 2 to1 going into the third period. Gabby Cote stopped 15 shots in the third period to ensure we were victorious.

The second game on Saturday was against our league rival, the Waterloo Ravens. Both regular season meetings have ended with ties. The Ice Cats dominated the play against Waterloo and were rewarded with a 3 to 1 victory to secure our spot in the semi-final. Reagan Charter scored twice with Alina Zylstra scoring the game winning Goal. We could not have won, however, without receiving excellent goaltending from Clara Hawke.

Sunday morning and the Ie Cats are ready to take on the Oakville Hornets. These Ice Cats were ready and Raegan Charter scored on our first shift setting the tone for the game. In fact, Raegan scored all three of our team's goals enroute to a 3-0 victory securing our spot in the Tournament Final. Gabby Cote was instrumental in our win securing the shutout.

In the Final, Brantford was looking to bounce back after their game with Belmont on Friday. Brantford started very strong, dominating the first period and Clara Hawke was making some amazing saves. Belmont was a very good team and scored in the second period to take a 1 goal lead into the third period. Your Ice Cats gave it their all but were unable to score and Belmont secured Gold for their team.

We are looking forward to a rematch
