Season 2024/25 starting out great for U13A Ice Cats
Our U13A Ice Cats played in their first tournament this season at the Clarington Flames Applefest Oct. 18-20th weekend.
They were in a pool with 7 other teams: the Belleville Bearcats, the Bluewater Hawks, the Clarington Flames, North Durham Blades, the Peterborough Ice Kats, Toronto-Leaside Wildcats and the Whitby Wolves.
These Cats truly did not disappoint - showing off their great skills, stamina, determination and great teamwork. |

The Cats played the North Durham Blades for their 1st game on Friday where they won 4-2. The next game was against the Whitby Wolves, who won against the Cats 2-0.
Saturday games started with a win against the Toronto-Leaside Wildcats (3-2). They later played a tied game with the Clarington Flames (1-1).
This left these Cats in 3rd place overall in the Round Robin and a spot in the Semi-Finals Sunday. |
Sunday saw our U13A Ice Cats first playing in the Semi-Finals against the second place tournament U13A team, the Toronto-Leaside Wildcats. The Cats were pumped to win and they did (4-1). Awesome hockey!
This win put them in the position of playing the Whitby Wolves for the Championship. The Wolves had not lost a game in the tournament.
This was not going to stop these Cats from giving the championship game their ALL!
Their hard work brought home the SILVER and the first Ice Cat team to bring home a medal this 2024/25 season!
