Bantam HL take GOLD at the Walter Gretzky Tournament Feb 2020
Bantam HL takes Gold at the 39th Walter Gretzky Tournament – February 21 – 23, 2020
This team already had Silver and Gold in the 2019/20 Season, so with the determination to break this medal tie they picked up GOLD this past weekend.
The Bantam HL Ice Cats were in a Round Robin with 4 other teams: the Lakeshore Lightning White, Waterloo Ravens, Kitchener Lady Rangers Blue and the Barrie Sharks Green.
Our Cats played each team winning 3 and having 1 tied game:
Ice Cats playing Kitchener Lady Rangers: 2 - 0
Ice Cats playing Waterloo Ravens: 1 – 1
Ice Cats playing Barrie Sharks: 5 – 2
Ice Cats playing Lakeshore Lightning: 2 – 1
The girls came out in 1st place in the Round Robin and on to the Finals where they played the 2nd place team – the Lakeshore Lightning.
It was a really tight game but this team comes together under pressure. The Cats took GOLD and with a 1 – 0 win!
