U13B Ice Cats persevered as a team to place 2nd at the North York Storm Tournament! 2023-24

The U13B Brantford Ice Cats had a tremendous weekend finishing in 2nd place! Despite being short players all weekend, the girls persevered as a team and played with tons of heart, hard work, and teamwork.
There was 4 teams playing:  the Bluewater Hawks, the North York Storm, Collingwood Lightnings, and our Ice Cats

We finished the tournament with a 3 and 2 record. It started with two wins on Friday led by a goal from Aubrey MacDonald and our goalie Kyla Misiudia with the shutout in game 1 against the Blue Water Hawks. In the second game, we beat the host North York 4 to 1 with a couple of goals from Zoey VanEvery. Lost our third game to Collingwood 4 to 0.

Our record placed us in 2nd place and set us up for a tough battle against the Blue Water Hawks. In the end, we managed to play as a team and win a great game 2 to 1. Our Championship Game was against the undefeated Collingwood team, who had not allowed a goal against in the tournament. Despite falling behind we managed to take the lead early in the 3rd period 2 to 1 but we were not able to hold onto the lead and lost 4 to 2.

Our girls played the majority of the tournament with 12 skaters and a goalie. Our coaching staff and parents were extremely proud of the effort put forth by our girls!
