U13 BB Ice Cats win the GOLD at the Stratford Aces Festival Cup 2023-24

The Stratford Aces Festival Cup was held on the weekend of November 17-19, 2023. The tournament pool consisted of 4 teams: the St. Thomas Panthers, the Huron Heat, the Ayr Rockets and our Ice Cats.
The team kept us holding our breath during the Round Robin. While the tournament didn't have the greatest start, this team showcased the art of teamwork, devotion to the game and determination.
While the team lost their first two games on Friday against the Huron Heat (7-2) and the St. Thomas Panthers (2-1), they re-grouped and came back blades flashing on Saturday.
The Cats won the morning game against the Ayr Rockets (2-1).
In the Semi-finals, this team was up against the Huron Heat again. This game went into overtime and finished with a 2-1 win in a shootout, excelling the Ice Cats into the Finals later that afternoon against the St. Thomas Panthers.
During the Championship Game, the U13BB Ice Cats never quit, coming back from a 3-0 deficit after the first two periods to win the game 4-3 in a shootout! A nail-biter for sure!!!!
